Do online homeschool students at Smartious get extracurricular activities?

Yes. Every Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Smartious students participate in a structured enrichment programme covering sports, clubs, leadership, music, art and wellness. Activities are supervised, age-appropriate and run alongside the academic timetable.

What sports are available to homeschool students?

Swimming, football, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, pickleball, archery, volleyball, athletics, squash, and dedicated fitness training. Sports take place at our Parklands learning centre and partner facilities, with qualified coaches.

Can my child join the coding or robotics club without a tech background?

Absolutely. Our coding, AI and robotics clubs are designed for beginners and accelerate to advanced level. Students progress at their own pace under guidance from STEM-qualified instructors.

How do online and diaspora students join activities?

Many clubs run virtually — debate, public speaking, coding, AI, entrepreneurship, book club, journalism and Model United Nations are fully online. Diaspora students join live sessions over video. In-person sports are available to students physically in Nairobi.

Are activities included in the tuition fee?

Most enrichment clubs are included for full-time homeschool students at no additional cost. Sports requiring specialised facilities (swimming, tennis, squash, archery) carry a modest activity fee to cover venue and coaching. Contact admissions for a full breakdown.

How does Smartious ensure student safety during activities?

All in-person activities are supervised by vetted Smartious staff and qualified coaches. Venues are inspected, parental consent is required, and we maintain a strict 1:8 supervisor-to-student ratio for sports. Online clubs are moderated by teachers throughout.
