How we use cookies and similar technologies on smartioushomeschool.com.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over time, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you return. Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them).
Smartious uses a small number of carefully chosen cookies in four categories: (a) strictly necessary: authentication tokens, CSRF protection, session state. These cannot be switched off as the site will not work without them; (b) functional: remembers your preferences such as billing cycle selection, blog category filters; (c) analytics: Google Analytics 4 collects anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We have IP anonymisation enabled; (d) payment: Paystack sets cookies during checkout to prevent fraud and maintain the payment session. These are set only on the payment step.
When you load pages that embed third-party content , the Paystack checkout iframe, a YouTube video on the blog, a Google Map of our Nairobi centre , those third parties may set their own cookies. We do not control these. You can review their policies at paystack.com/privacy, policies.google.com, and similar.
You can control cookies three ways: (i) in your browser settings: most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or delete cookies on exit; (ii) through our cookie banner (for EU/UK visitors) , you can accept all, accept only essential, or customise by category; (iii) by opting out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging into the portal or completing enrolment.
Our site respects the "Do Not Track" browser signal for analytics cookies. If your browser sends a DNT signal, Google Analytics does not fire.
