Frequently asked questions
Can my Houston child homeschool while parents travel internationally for energy industry work?
Yes. Houston families with offshore or international postings are core to our model. Live classes run 7 AM – 4 PM CT (a global-friendly window), all sessions are recorded for offshore parents in other time zones, and your child stays academically synchronised regardless of where the family is physically based that month. Texas requires no paperwork to maintain homeschool status during travel.
Does Smartious help Houston families apply to Rice University?
Yes. Rice University accepts Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level qualifications and welcomes homeschool applicants. We provide free Common App support, Rice-specific essay guidance, and recommendation letters from your teaching team. Cambridge A-Level rigour is particularly valued for Rice's competitive engineering and pre-med programmes.
Which Houston suburbs and neighborhoods do you serve?
