BC Distributed Learning (DL) schools provide a $200–$700 CAD/yr resource allocation per student. Smartious isn't a BC DL school — but families can register with a flexible DL school and use part of that allocation to offset Smartious live Cambridge tuition. Or skip DL entirely and self-register as a homeschooler with your school district. Here's how each path works.

Register with a flexible BC DL school (Heritage Christian Online, EBUS Academy, Self Design Learning Community, Insignis Christian Academy, others). The DL school enrols your child and provides a resource allocation. Many flexible DL schools allow that allocation to be used for outside curriculum and tutoring providers — including Smartious. The DL school remains the primary academic record-keeper.

Can I do Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level for BC university admissions (UBC, SFU, UVic)?
Yes. UBC, SFU, UVic, UBC Okanagan, and Thompson Rivers University all accept Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level qualifications on equal footing with BC Grade 12 / Dogwood Diploma. Cambridge A-Level Mathematics + Physics or Biology + Chemistry are particularly competitive for UBC Engineering and UBC Medicine direct-admission pathways.
What if I just want to self-register as a homeschooler and skip DL entirely?
