The Cambridge IGCSE is the world's most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. Developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education, it is recognised by universities and employers worldwide as evidence of academic ability. The programme is built around clear subject syllabuses, balanced assessment, and a strong emphasis on developing both knowledge and practical skills. Subjects offered

Students typically take 6–9 subjects. Core subjects include English (First or Second Language), Mathematics, and the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science). A wide range of options follows: Business Studies, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, ICT, Geography, History, Global Perspectives, and modern languages. Smartious supports more than 40 IGCSE subjects across the CIE and Edexcel boards.

How it is assessed

Most subjects are assessed through written examinations at the end of the two-year programme, with some subjects including coursework or practical components. Grades are awarded from A* down to G. Examinations are sat in the May/June or October/November series at registered exam centres. Smartious prepares students with regular mock examinations marked to official standards.

Progression and pathways

IGCSE is the standard foundation for advanced study. Students typically progress to Cambridge A-Level, the IB Diploma, or equivalent Year 12–13 programmes. Strong IGCSE results are also accepted directly by foundation programmes and some universities for early entry. The qualification is recognised in the UK, across Africa and the Middle East, and by universities in North America.
